Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map

To help identify areas at risk for wildfire and support community safety, the American Canyon Fire Protection District adopted the 2025 Fire Hazard Severity Zone (FHSZ) Map(PDF, 1MB) in April 2025, as recommended by the California State Fire Marshal, through Ordinance 2025-01(PDF, 87KB).

The map designates areas within the District as moderate, high, or very high fire hazard severity zones based on consistent statewide criteria. Adoption of the FHSZ Map strengthens fire prevention and mitigation efforts, enhances public safety, and ensures alignment with California’s fire protection standards.

In accordance with California Government Code (CGC) Section 51179, the District made the proposed map available for public review, provided public notice, and held a hearing on April 22, 2025, to receive community input. Following this process, the Board of Directors adopted the map without changes to the designations established by the State Fire Marshal.
