At the American Canyon Fire Protection District, we know that the best emergency is the one that never happens. That’s why Community Risk Reduction (CRR)—formerly known as Fire Prevention—is a core part of how we serve and protect American Canyon.
CRR focuses on reducing fire and life safety risks before emergencies occur through education, preparation, and proactive enforcement of fire and safety standards. By working alongside residents, businesses, and partner agencies, we help create a safer community while delivering a high level of customer service every step of the way.
Our CRR efforts include the adoption and enforcement of fire and life safety codes and ordinances; plan review and inspection of construction projects; coordination of annual life safety inspections for existing commercial, industrial, educational, and multi-family residential buildings; and the management of wildfire hazards throughout the community.
