Examples of fire or explosion hazard items include:

  • Fuels and flammable liquids such as gasoline, kerosene, antifreeze, engine cleaner, and other auto or marine fluids

  • Pressurized containers including air compressors, camping gas cylinders, propane or CO₂ cartridges, helium tanks, and aerosol-style containers

  • Batteries with fire risk, especially lithium-ion, rechargeable batteries, button cell batteries, and car batteries

  • Fire-starting or ignition devices such as lighters, e-cigarettes, vape pens, and battery chargers

  • Explosive or pyrotechnic materials including marine flares, single-use pyrotechnics, and explosives

  • Refrigerants and compressed gases like Freon

  • Electrical components that may spark or overheat, including electrical switches, relays, and damaged electronics

These items can cause fires, explosions, or serious injury during handling, collection, or transport.
