Know Your Zone: Evacuation Information

Napa County uses Genasys Protect (formerly Zonehaven) to provide the community with evacuation information during emergencies. The Napa County Office of Emergency Services, Napa County Sheriff’s Office, and other affected agencies may use Genasys Protect to share evacuation zone information and status updates.

Genasys Protect may also provide important emergency information, including road closures, sandbag locations, Temporary Evacuation Points (TEPs), shelters, and large animal shelter locations.

Knowing your evacuation zone before an emergency happens can help you quickly determine whether your area is under an Evacuation Warning or Evacuation Order.

Find Your Zone Before an Emergency

Visit Genasys Protect and enter your home or work address to find your evacuation zone.

Write down your zone and share it with everyone in your household.

During an emergency, check Genasys Protect for the current status of your zone.

Evacuation Warning vs. Evacuation Order

Evacuation Warning

Prepare to evacuate. If you need additional time to leave—including older adults, people with disabilities or access and functional needs, families with young children, and those with animals—consider leaving early.

Evacuation Order

Leave immediately. Follow official evacuation instructions and do not delay your departure.

Know the Evacuation Status Levels

Evacuation status levels: Red means Evacuation Order—evacuate immediately; Yellow means Evacuation Warning—prepare for probable evacuation; Green means Evacuation Order Lifted—clear to repopulate; Blue means Advisory—incident-specific information; White means Normal—default day-to-day status.

RED — Evacuation Order

Evacuate immediately.

YELLOW — Evacuation Warning

Prepare for probable evacuation.

GREEN — Evacuation Order Lifted

The evacuation order has been lifted, and the area is cleared for repopulation.

BLUE — Advisory

Incident-specific information.

WHITE — Normal

Default day-to-day status.

If you hear the Hi-Lo siren, it's time to GO.

The Hi-Lo siren is a distinctive two-tone siren used by the American Canyon Police Department and Napa County Sheriff's Office to alert residents that they need to evacuate.

Do not wait for someone to come to your door. Leave the area and follow evacuation instructions. Check official emergency information sources for current information about the incident and affected areas.
